So out came the Gossip in the Garden quilt (yep...it's what you'd call a long, term project ha ha..) and I have to admit I'm feeling very motivated, so I'd better act on it. I seem to have a lot of panels organised... but they are all missing something!
Don't look too closely...I need some handles for cups, stems for flowers, a few more hexies...the list goes on!
So I picked up a block and reintroduced myself to needle turn applique, which I love doing but it's definitely not quick...and the little circles were challenging.
"Where are the stems?"
And now I'm on to another block...
Thanks Wendy, I really enjoyed the night. Now I'm off to have a look at what everyone else got up to.
wow this quilt is going to be awesome, love your blocks, well done.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with long term projects, always good to have some around :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is coming along very nicely,
xx
Love your fabrics it will be amazing. I am now a master at long term projects so much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree - needle turn applique is fun, and looks beautiful when done, but it is certainly not fast. This quilt will be gorgeous when you get it done.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. I am a big fan of needleturn but yes progress can be slow. Your quilt is going to be beautiful x
ReplyDeletePS thank you for your lovely comment on my blog...I couldn't reply to you xx
ReplyDeleteGreat to get out a project that you've been working on a while back and getting to make progress is even better....... loooking forward to seeing it grow!
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be gorgeous when completed.
ReplyDeleteWay to go pulling out a project that has been resting. Love the blocks! This will be a beauty! Keep it up :-)
ReplyDeleteApplique is never a "quick" project. I too did applique this month and managed 8 tiny leaves! Ha! As for your circle, have you tried Karen Kay Buckley's Perfect Circles? I find them to be very easy to use and I end up with beautiful circles of all sizes!
ReplyDeleteWell done on pulling out an older project :-) Needleturning small circles is tricky but yours look great..... love the fabrics you've ued for this!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will come together more quickly than you think! Most of the hard work is done it is just the little things now. It will be amazing when it is finished.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous long term project... it's fun to just do a bit when you are in the mood. Just enjoy..
ReplyDeleteIts a gorgeous quilt and well worth the time.
